How are you installing?
You can use the DVD installer. Or you might be using the NET installer. If you downloaded live media, then those use the NET installer.
If you are using the NET installer, then it has to download packages over the net as it proceeds. If you have a slow network connection, that could take a while.
If you are using the DVD installer, then all packages are on the DVD. There’s an option to also use network repos. If you enable network repos, again you will be downloading over the network as you go, and that could be slow if you have a slow Internet connection.
I typically download the DVD installer, write that to a USB and install from there. I do not enable online repos for the install, so that everything comes from the DVD installer.
An install to a hard drive usually takes less than 30 minutes. However, install to a USB drive would take longer.
