What errors did you get? Did you use ‘sudo rpm -ib <rpm-name>’? The BINARY
RPMs will not be as large as 24 MB. Only source would be that large.

You need to install make and the compiler packages in order to compile the
madwifi sources.

Do you have a CD or a DVD installation media? If DVD, the stuff you need will be
on it. Use YaST => Software => Software Management and search for “make”, select
it, then search for “gcc”, select it, and finally select “accept”. There may be
other packages needed, but those are the two main ones.

and make sure it hasnt changed.i installed a whole bunch of other stuff while i was at it.3.9gb to be exact.be back later.

this is the first time ive experienced problems with wicd.

he gave me the key for free!anyway i put the key in this network;Ham wiFi,and ticked the connect automatically box.
its a wpa passphrase.but wicd keeps connecting to state street internet?how can i fix this?

Start with the router & find all the wireless info or set it up; then, the Yast > Network Device info on every page & tab must match.
do it with firewall & wep/etc off 1st & get it working then turn them on one-by-one;)
