Troubles with a printer hp3820

I have installed OpenSuSE 11.1 for x86_64. And I have hp3820. I tried to find my printer through Yast->Hardware->Printer. It found nothing. :frowning:
I tried to find it through CUPS web-panel. But there is nothing matched parallel port.
There is a file lp0 in /dev/ dirctory. But the command

echo 'test' > /dev/lp0

will output

bash: /dev/lp0: No such device or address

I checked the cable connection to motherboard. It is OK.

What can I do else?

Hi
Install hplip via YaST and then as root user run the command hp-setup.

The solution came from BIOS: the parallel port was turned off
