trouble inputting password in terminal

Hi everyone,

I am new here and also complete linux noob. I managed to upgrade the opensuse 10.3 installed on my old system (dual boot with xp) with the 11.1 version. Now i am trying to configure the NDISwrapper so i can use my netgear WG111T wifi usb dongle. But one procedure on the tutorial i was following is that i needed to log in as root. But every time i try typing “su” on Terminal it promts me for a password. Now here’s the problem, everytime i try inputting my password, nothing seems to be happening. It doesnt matter how hard i press the keys on my keyboard - absolutely nothing.

Anyone can help me please! Im close to throwing this old system into the window.

Thanks very much in advance!

Put in the root password, not the user password.

Kind regards,

The password does not display, neither does the cursor move as you type!!

Just type …and hit enter
