Trouble getting lexicon lambda working

I’m having issues getting my Lexicon Lambda ( Lexicon Pro ) working. A Lexicon Lambda is basically a recording studio that allows sound to go in via a 3 prong plug XLR connector. The problem is, before I run alsaconf, sound will go in and out of that device. When I run alsaconf to get sound to go through my Realtek soundcard, I can’t get my microphone to work with my Lexicon Lambda. I can’t find any drivers for this device, but I really want sound to go out of my Realtek, and sound to record from my Lexicon Lambda. I don’t have any drivers for it so please help me figure it out. :frowning:

Another thing is, every time I start up my computer, I have to run alsaconf because I think it defaults back to my Lexicon Lambda for recording AND playback… I just want it to record, but alsaconf does both of those… On top of that, everytime I need to connect to the internet after I boot up my computer, I have to type ‘modprobe ndiswrapper’. These are the only things that are bothering me and keeping me from enjoying. After I start up my computer I have to do these things so if someone can please help, I would appreciate it so much. :slight_smile:

Thanks,
Stromstedt

I guess nobody has a clue as to how to use one soundcard for playback and one for recording? Or how to use windows drivers for linux? :frowning:

This is what I get when I click “Hardware Information” on YaST:

There is a lot more than that, but this should give you an idea of what this is… I’m not sure what it all means, but hopefully you can tell :P. I see that it says to run the command “modprobe snd_usb_audio” and I tried that, but it doesn’t do anything. I also tried to take ndiswrapper and then install the drivers from Windows, but that doesn’t work either… Anybody have an idea what to do? :frowning: This device is default when I start Linux, and then I have to run alsaconf. BUT when I run alsaconf, this device stops working, and my system has no way to find it. This device works fine with my dual boot on Windows so I know it’s nothing with my hardware or anything like that. Any ideas? ;;

Thanks,
Stromstedt

I tried to fix this by installing PulseAudio because on SuSE 10 I didn’t have this problem. Now all I get is a connection refused error when I try to start the pulse audio server… Now I can’t keep a lot of my applications like Pidgin or even Firefox open very long because I get something like this:

ALSA lib pulse.c:272:(pulse_connect) PulseAudio: Unable to connect: Connection refused

ALSA lib pulse.c:272:(pulse_connect) PulseAudio: Unable to connect: Connection refused

I wish someone would please help because this is the only thing that is pushing me away from using SuSE, I need to set this up because I"m moving to another country soon and my mother will be using this computer.
