Triple Boot...?

Hi,

I’m currently running Windows Vista with Ubuntu running using Wubi. Could I install opensuse 11.1 on a separate partition?

Thanks,

Danny

Yes you can.

there are a couple threads floating around concerning some of the quirks to a triple boot system, issues with the /boot and such, yes it can be done but it can be a kinda tricky partition setup

It is about how big is your HD or u using 2,3or4 HD

Cheers

yes space plays a large role but there were also some questions about the /boot partition i noticed earlier and properly partitioning in order for the third os to load properly

You should ignore the existing partitioning, bypass it, except for the swap partition which can be sharedby Ubu and openSUSE. If there’s sufficient space at the end of the drive, the SuSe installer will split it into /home and root (/) partitions. You can adjust the sizes when you get to the Suggested Partitioning screen. A minuscule chance it will see a boot partition if you have one for Ubu and try to use it – don’t let it if it does.

@swerdna thanks i couldn’t remember the particulars or the thread again

was starting to think i was losin my mind^_^
