I got a MacBookpro that was slowing down, so I installed Linux on it and I was hoping to just erase OSX. Installing opensuse was a success but when I boot a folder with a question mark shows up. I can hold down the option/alt key and a password bar appears but it enters a boot screen area that recognizes a liveDVD but not the HDD any solutions?

Sounds like you installed in legacy mode rather than efi mode…?
Did you run the bootcamp app in osX?
I never ran that when installing on my MacBook, I did a fresh install (Dual boot) by booting from an openSUSE rescue dvd on a USB device and pre-partitioning the drive, then installed osX, then installed openSUSE in efi mode (press option key at boot to select efi).
