I’m having a hard time to get the touchscreen functionality of my HAMI H-8001T under OpenSuSE 10.3 to work. Display is ok, but the touchscreen functionality does not work. I’m using the eGalax Touchkit driver package called “TouchKit-1.08.1227-32b-k26.tar.gz”
Does anybody have experience with touchscreen devices under OpenSuSE 10.3?
Touchscreen is supposed to be one area where openSUSE-11.0 is improved over openSUSE-10.3. Whether that improvement is enough to make your problem easier, I don’t know.
You could try contact user dkukawka and very very politely, ask if he has some suggestions on how to build the package? User: Dkukawka home page - openSUSE
I note it is his repository (repos) that has the latest tablet rpm packages, and he did do his thesis in tablets. And on his web site, he does state: "If you need some help to get you Tablet PC running feel free to ask me. " …
But if I were you, I would consider trying openSUSE-11.0 first, before I wasted his time.

Hi
As a followup, I now have my Phylon 7" touchscreen working on 11.0 with
the 2.03.1712 1.4 driver. The setup script didn’t copy over the
egalax_drv.so and had to use ‘customize’ to set the screen dimensions.
Apart from that it’s all up and working.
