Touchpad stopped working

I am using openSUSE leap 42.2 with xfce on my HP Folio 9470m notebook for a while without much problems. Today I started my computer and although the trackball still works, the touch-pad does not work anymore. I tried to go to the settings - mouse and touch-pad to see whether I accidentally deactivated it, but the touch-pad is not displayed anymore.

I started to the BIOS setting in order to see if the touchpad was disabled when start-up. There the touchpad worked and now after restart from the BIOS menu it works again.:\
