Touchpad not working after login

Hi. I have installed Leap 42.2 on my Toshiba l455. Now touchpad works on login screen, but after logging in it freezes in the center of screen. Connected USb mouse works normally. I have read here that touchpad drivers needs to run as root. (http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/213415/mouse-freeze-after-logging-in-to-gnome) But the way described there is not working for opensuse so please if anyone knows how to run that drivers as root please tell me. I have logged in as root, in this case touchpad works. So problem exactly in this.

Welcome to openSUSE Forums NModern. That is a strange issue. I’ve never encountered such a report, and a bug report may be needed. Which desktop environment are you using?

I have read here that touchpad drivers needs to run as root. (arch linux - Mouse freeze after logging in to Gnome - Unix & Linux Stack Exchange) But the way described there is not working for opensuse so please if anyone knows how to run that drivers as root please tell me. I have logged in as root, in this case touchpad works. So problem exactly in this.

Nothing like this should be needed (as far as I’m aware), but it might be useful to share your Xorg log here for others to review.

Hi. I am using Gnome. Xorg log I’ll share when I’ll be at home. Sorry.

All good.

BTW, you mentioned

Now touchpad works on login screen, but after logging in it freezes in the center of screen. Connected USb mouse works normally.

Does the touchpad only stop working when the USB mouse is plugged in? I’m asking this just in case Gnome is configured to disable the touchpad when another pointing device is connected.

No, It stops working reagardless usb mouse connected or not.

Here is my Xorg.0.log

Nobody helps?

We’re all volunteers here, and most of us have other commitments (family, jobs,…) so a bit of patience is required.

Is is possible that the touchpad is explicitly disabled?
