Totem XVID MPEG-4 Decoder add-on

Hello,

I use totem as video viewer, and this morning I wanted to watch a movie, but Totem tells me that I must install a XVID MPEG-4 Decoder add-on. I clicked ok, but Totem didn’t find the add-on, so I only have the sound in the video, I don’t have images.

Can you help me to view the video file please ?

EDIT : I’m under the last stable version of OpenSuSE (12.01), with Gnome-Shell, on a 64bits computer.

Thanks,
Regards

Open up YaST / Software / Software Management and search on xvid. You should find two packages, xvidcore and libxvidcore4 and select both and have them install and see if that helps. I show both come from Packman and so this repository must have been added. I have a bash script that looks for and suggests to install these kind of things here: MMCHECK - Version 2.41 - Check Your Multimedia in 16 Steps - Bash Script File - Blogs - openSUSE Forums

Thank You,

Thank you, I also installed VLC and I find it great.

I assume that means your request has been solved. Happy to hear that.

Thank You,
