Toshiba A500 - no wireless

My old Toshiba A200 crashed this week and I was in a rush so I picked up the Toshiba A500.

Everything worked as on my A200, BUT, it doesn’t recognize the wireless network card…Ouch…

Where do I start? If I click on KNetworkManager - Manage Connections, the Wireless tab is grayed out…

I checked the HCL and the A500 is not listed.

Where do I start troubleshooting? I believe this laptop’s wireless card is a Realtek.

Go to the wireless sub-forum and read the stickies. That will tell you
how to discover what wireless device you have, or at least what
information to report.

For fellow-“victims” of RTL8192 - the wireless card in this Toshiba - please navigate to Realtek 8172 not recognized - fixed right or not? - openSUSE Forums. The fix is there.
