Top line of my desktop screen is now full of folder icons for my Home directory. Why and how to remove?

I am running TW with KDE desktop. After a long but as yet futile attempt to have X11 as my desktop manager and finding that my system has defaulted to Plasma (Wayland) following an update at some time I am staying with this setup for now.

During the various attempts to identify the problem I now have a desktop cluttered with folder icons which are the contents of my Home directory.

I did not ask for these and have not yet found out why they are on my desktop or how to remove them. Please can somebody help me remove them. I am reluctant just to try and delete them until I know why they are there.

Right click on the desktop “Configure Desktop and Wallpaper” the setting to fix that should be in there somewhere, I can’t recall exactly.

Yes, desktop ‘Folder View’ as I already mentioned in the other thread…
