Tools needed for install of ATI legacy driver

I have been trying to install the legacy driver for my ATI Radeon HD 4650 card in openSUSE 12.2 x86_64 but it fails with the following error:

fglrx installation requires that the system have kernel headers.
/lib/modules/3.4.11-2.16-desktop/build/include/linux/version.h cannot be found on this system.
fglrx installation requires that the system has make tool. make cannot be found on this system.
fglrx installation requires that the system has gcc tool. gcc cannot be found on this system.

If I could get pointed to the right packages I require for this I would be eternally grateful.

Thanks in advance for any help rendered.

You need to install the Pattern
Base Development

Also check you have: linux-glibc-devel

Merci and thank you for your help and time! I do appreciate it.

That’ll be about as good as it gets. I don’t use ATI, never have.

I know they dropped support for Legacy or something like that…

Thanks for the help caf4926 but it looks as if I still need to get the following:

/lib/modules/3.4.11-2.16-desktop/build/include/linux/version.h

All of the other requirements were filled. Any idea where I might scare this up?

Boy @caf4926 you respond so quickly! I really thank you for your help. As for the last problem I had; I did a quick Google search and solved the problem. The drivers installed.

Again, I really appreciate the help and your quick response to my queries. Heaven must hold a special place for you!

You are most welcome for the little use I was on this occasion.
