Tool-tip Help During Installation

Hello! This is my first thread!

Firstly, I’d like to say that openSUSE 11.2 is the best OS!
Way better than Windows!
Music, Video, Internet - everything is working perfectly!

And almost all the that questions I had, have already been solved in this forum! Thank you, everyone!

During installation, I’ve noticed that when I roll the mouse pointer over any item, no tool-tip help appears. The help text is available with the Help button. It would be nice if the help appeared as a tool-tip.

I would like add this feature to the installer.

I have a little bit of experience with openSUSE (been playing around since last month!) and Linux. I am comfortable programming in C/C++, Java, C#, Perl and JavaScript. I’ve also worked with CGI/Perl, Java servlets, UNIX system calls (file APIs etc.) I had written an online quiz application using Apache Tomcat and Java servlets with XML database connectivity.

I had attended an OpenSolaris - BeleniX seminar by Moinak Ghosh a few months back. It was about file-systems, HSFS etc. and how BeleniX accesses the CD with read() system calls etc.

I really want to contribute to openSUSE by implementing this tool-tip help feature.

Can you please tell me how to start? I should learn Qt etc., right?

can I point you to How to Participate - openSUSE

In particular the installer is related to Yast development, feel free to contact developers on irc and via the mailing lists.
