That is good to know. Will be installing it today on another Lenovo.
No trouble here on the machines in the house. Haven’t checked though if the NVIDIA driver is available for this new kernel. Should be a point of care.
Went as painless as ever.

I am running the same Nvidia blob as I was yesterday before the I did the before the update from the Nvidia reop.
I just installed it, rebooted and no problems so far. Now let’s see what it fixed for my m/c, if anything…
Updated 9.8.2010 to new kernel, 2.6.34.4-0.1. All running smoothly, and some previously slow areas improved.
Bonus: Long-standing problem with “Standby” (aka “Suspend to RAM”) appears resolved. My Intel 855GM graphics is very happy, with no GPU failure messages in the logs! BTW: “Hibernation” has worked correctly since 11.3 RC1, with one minor glitch (posted elsewhere).
Config: Lap:Gateway MX7340, 1GB, Intel 855GM, WD 250GB
Box: Gateway E4100, 1.5GB,Intel 855GM, WD 120GB
Next step is the 2nd laptop: Gateway m675, 1GB 80GBHD, and ATI Radeon 9700.

GPU GeForce 8600 GTS Silent - Driver Version: 256.53
Also applied to my desktop pc (Asus + AMD Sempron) without issue.
Thanks for mentioning that. My Dell D600 would never come back from “Suspend to RAM” with previous kernels. It is working as expected now.
Seems to have went ok here to.

Catalyst drivers need to be rebuilt after the update. Besides this last everything’s fine.
Do all you guys still have PS/2 keyboards and mice?!
Look at that thread : Keyboard & mouse freezes
I did post a workaround at the end of the thread, which at least worked for me on 2 machines.
PS2 mouse and keyboard through a KVM.
This explains why you didn’t notice the USB autosuspend bug introduced by this kernel update.
Like please_try_again, I had a problem with autosuspend and my wireless/USB mouse and keyboard. There was a lot of reaction to it in bugzilla. The workaround fixed it and the release of kernel 2.6.34.7-0.2 has made it official. Good response by the fixers.
