There appears to be a problem registering new members to the openSUSE forum. The application process is forwarded to the Novell site, and provides application templet.
However, it rejects any and all usernames, as invalid, or already in use. I was only able to
register by going directly to novell.com, and completing the registration there.
If you find that new registrations are down, this is the reason.
I will ask about this and let you know what I find out. When I tried it, it redirected me to a full Novell Account creation. Its been so long ago when I did this, I am not sure I know what we require you to do these days. At least we are not asking you to send in a picture of yourself taken wearing a chicken suit standing on one foot sucking on a boiled egg. So, it could be worse.

no problems at all with rejecting user names…so, i have no idea why
had the problems you did…(but, sorry you did)…
This is the Novell registration form where my problems began. It appears to be the same form as the one accessed directly from novell.com, but for some reason it could not accept my proposed user name. At one point I tried a 16 random character name, but it was still “Already in use” I’m not wise enough to know the reason for this, I can only describe what happended. I am not alone to have experienced this, there are others reporting the same thing at : SUSEUnbound

It would be useful to know what you tried to register. Chances are they
were already in use, but we can have someone look into it if we know what
to look for.
