OpenSuse 12.3 LXDE.
How can I start my computer without screen but with pci-e GPU support (nvidia).
Remote tightvnc without screen gives no gui and no nvidia gpu support?
I only see twm with remote.

change the subject.
opensuse 12.3 LXDE
How can I use nvidia drivers with an gtx card without using a screen.
I am using this pc as a rendernode so no screen is needed.

I think you need to use a render software that can use it via the CUDA
interface. Plus you will have to get the CUDA interface tools built and
working on your box as well.
?-)
I am using Nvidia cuda linux drivers works perfect and also using software for gpu rendering with cuda support (its called Cycles)
I have build a render farm with nvidia cuda core cards in each node and tightvnc for remote.
Without a monitor I have no access to the gpu which I need for gpu-cuda rendering.

I am really missing what you are asking for then. Is there an issue with
getting nvidia working on your render farm management machine while using
tightvnc?
?-/
Yes that’s the problem because there is no monitor connected to the render nodes the nvidia driver is not working anymore.
I want the rendernodes run without a monitor as you can see on the picture.
Only without a monitor I have no access to the gpu which I need for gpu-cuda rendering with ssh or tightvnc.

OK. Here is the normal hookup:
| |
|--------- render farm -------------|
| |
| control |
|workstation |
| Monitor | | Monitor |
| | | |
The only place you need normal nvidia drivers in the control workstation
to drive its monitor. The real rendering power comes from the CUDA
enabled machines in the render farm. Normal drivers there are unwelcome
and unneeded (you wouldn’t want to hookup a few dozen monitors and suck
up all the processing power you built the render farm for, would you?).
?-)
Yes , Sorry I’m repeating.
You do not really help me.
I am looking for a nvidia rendernode only driver.

That is in the rendering software kit that uses the CUDA extensions. What
did you say you use?
?-)
When I start a rendernode without a monitor connected , netrender (cycles) cannot find gpu-cuda anymore. Works only with monitors connected to the rendernodes which I do not want. Need a rendernode only nvidia driver.

Then there are major configuration problems with the CUDA or the
rendernode software.
?-)
Nope, the problem is the nvidia graphic driver which stops when no screen is connected.
Tightvnc with gui is also not possible when there is no screen connected to the rendernode.
Sounds like a problem that needs taken up by NVIDIA it is their driver after all and none but they can fix it. Or perhaps there is another solution since they do sell their hardware to super computer guys and I’m relatively sure that those goes do not hook up thousands of monitors LOL

Then that is a comparability problem in tightvnc. There should be NO
requirement for a display to be attached to any rendernode CUDA adapter.
Further, i do not think it is reasonable to expect to run X clients on the
rendernode CPUs. Think more like ssh+CLI to talk to them. They are
compute servers after all.
?-)
That is true I also use ssh instead of tightvnc.
I am using the 1-click install for openSUSE 12.3.
Could that be the problem.
The gpu card in the rendernode cannot be found, but the gpu can be found and works fine when I startup the rendernode with a monitor connected?
The rendernodes have no monitors.

You are starting to get it. The individual GPUs of the renderfarm should
NOT be visible nor require monitors ever. There may or may not be a
farmwide equivalent of a X-client. There certainly should not be for the
individual nodes.
?-)
Are you saying it is not a driver problem?
The netrender software should show/detect the gpu even when there is no monitor connected.

Yes.
