TigerVNC viewer alternative for Android

Hi all,

I was just wondering if anyone has a suggestion for an Android app to be used to connect remotely to a running vncserver on my current opnSUSE leap 15.4? I am looking to just run the app and connect to the vncserver, not run another vncserver and connect to it like RustDesk.

Would greatly appreciate guidance and suggestions.

Kindest regards

Hi all,

After testing few apps, I came across VNC Viewer by RealVNC that connects perfectly to VNC server running on openSUSE Leap 15.4. The downside is that it is not open source.

Now I have to figure out how to make the connection secure.

Regards.

Yes, different VNC flavor have sometimes connecting with each other.

That should be easy enough using a SSH tunnel.

Block RealVNC on the server to listen only to connections from 127.0.0.1 and make sure your computer accepts ssh connections, for addition obscurity you could use a non-standard port.

Most VNC clients support using SSH to connect but if this is not the case, you first have to set up a SSH tunnel and use that then to connect to the VNC server.
