thunderbird

hi, i’m installing the thunderbird to put on mi hotmail’s inbox but i don’t see the 110 and 25 ports. they are still closed, in the router i have them opened and the suse’s firewall and the first that i’ve done y to come to authorithed services, advances options and i attachhed the 110 and 25 ports TCP and UPD. If I’m not doing it fine, y stopped the full firewall but it still has a mistake. Any idea? Thank you

I suggest you to restore all default settings, leave the firewall running and google for a how-to set thunderbird on linux.
It doesn’t supposed to be very difficult.
Good luck.

i have the same one problem with webcam logitech quickcam messenger plus and kopete yet i don´t know to do with suse…

I suggest you to open a new thread about it. Nobody will know that under the thunderbird thread there is actually a kopete problem.
Personal opinion: Kopete is a low quality software compared to the other messengers(not just in KDE, globally). It don’t worth playing around it. I suggest you to install KMess. I’ve used it for a long time and it has a lot of feature - maybe you webcam works too.
Hope that helps.

ps.: if nothing help ask the gurus on KDE Community Forums

Why would you want to open the 110 and 25 ports? Do you intend to run a mail server?
