Hi,
this morning I got 6 updates, including one for Thunderbird and one for Firefox. Although Firefox still works, Thunderbird does not. When I start it in a terminal I get this:
No idea if it has anything to do with the update, but before doing the update (when booting TB is started automatically) it worked.
Can anyone tell me what to do to solve this?
Thank you very much.
Simple answer: none. After I had some more things which didn’t work I realized OpenSuse is not for me. So, I uninstalled it and went back to my LinuxMint, a distro where everything just works out of the box.
The reason for trying OpenSuse was just that: trying, see what it is like but no it is not mine.
Btw, I did use 13.2, not that it matters anymore.
Seems like a bug in Mozilla, probably not related to oS. A search for the error message shows a number of bugs the OP could have followed, some recent ones on Mint, even.
But it’s a moot point now.
Ah, I did update Thunderbird to 31.7 yesterday and used it, no errors.
Yes, I see that message. As best I recall, it has been producing that message for years, though you normally won’t see the message when starting Thunderbird from the menus.
I have Mint 17.1 (KDE version) installed on one box – in a separate partition, as I prefer opensuse. Mint does have a pretty good setup. You should use what you find most congenial.
For me, opensuse has pretty much worked right out of the box (or the iso).
