thunderbird profile borken. How can I fix it?

suddenly my tb seems to be reset to blank condition: no account, no mail…

profile is there (8,6GB)

I've tried to open thunderbird with -p  and select the profile, create a new profile and copy the files in my old profile to the new one.... nothing.

Importing mail from tb to opera, kmail or seamonkey doen not import anything, so I guess the profile is broken somewhere. Which files should I check/replace/delete........?

You can probably create a new profile in Th and copy over the mail files only.
