Hey guys, is there any way to get thunderbird to show my replies to
posts on mailing lists? IIRC this is what happens in KMail so it would
be nice to be able to see this in Thunderbird too.

Insufficient data to compute an answer.

Sorry, was in a rush and forgot to upload an example. See:

Thunderbird is not showing my posts in this thread, it just shows that I
have replied to them. Is there a way to get them to show up?
I noticed that if I open it as a conversation in another tab then my
posts do show up. See: http://paste.opensuse.org/view/raw/10359047

I think not. It is a gmail feature. :-/
I looked at my own copy of the folder and saw your posts and your
address. It is a gmail particularity that they automatically remove
from your inbox emails that have the same message-id that any other that
was seen previously in any of your folders, because it thinks they are
duplicates.
Meaning:
You send an email to the mail list.
You get back a copy of it.
Gmail deletes it on arrival.
You do not see it.
The trick is to use a filter to move/copy the sent email to the inbox. I
do not use this, so I can’t help right there.

I guess it joins both sent and inbox folders.
Another solution would be to have two gmail accounts, sending/receiving
with different ones, and fool that “feature”.
(you can enable a gmail account to send email of an arbitrary “from”,
once validated).

Bah why must everything be so complicated, will look into it, should not
be too hard to do it via a filter I guess. Thanks.

Hi
The other option is to use gmane and nntp with thunderbird? All you
need to do is check the mailing lists you want are there, then
unsubscribe, then subscribe via nomail and collect/post via gmane.
