Thunderbird has been running well for many months. It is set up to collect mail from several accounts when it is started. No passwords are saved and as a result a password dialog is displayed as each account is processed. About 2 or 3 weeks ago thunderbird started to hang somewhere in the middle of these logons. The only way out is to click on the close button and then get the not responding dialog and kill thunderbird. It is now difficult to get all the way through the logon process without the freeze. If I do one or two logons and cancel the rest thunderbird will work. I can then subsequently logon to the other accounts individually and then thunderbird will work with all the accounts. I have recently added 2 accounts. I think but can’t be sure that the problem started before I added the accounts. I have not seen any obvious pop or tcp errors. There is frequently, but I can’t guarantee always, a kde popup informing me that an e-mail has been received. There is a horrible problem with KDE in that just about all its dialogs and menus seem to be modal and that could cause this sort of problem especially as I believe that the thunderbird is multi-threaded
Has anybody seen or does anybody know of a problem like this in thunderbird
