Thunderbird 3 RC2 one small issue

I have download and installed thunderbird 3RC2 and it works great
except for one small problem. When you click on link in an email nothing
happens, if you right click and select open in browser nothing happens.

I would like to find a fix for this issue, it seems small but it gets under ones
skin after a few attempts at opening a link.

I have looked into kcontrols browser selections and its set to firefox. I changed
it to the three other browser I had installed and nothing changed. It seems that
Thunderbird is completely unaware of the presence of any web browser.

If anyone knows how to configure thunderbird to use a web browser
I would love to learn how.

If your looking to install thunderbird 3 rc2 just go to the webpin and search
for Thunderbird and select “Mozilla Thunderbird (3.0.0)”. This is the RC2
Release even though it doesn’t have rc2 behind it.

I had that problem with thunderbird 3 on openSUSE-11.2 with KDE-4.3.1. As soon as I updated to KDE-4.3.4 the problem went away.

… but I can’t say that was a definitive cure for the thunderbird link problem - it just worked for me, and to coin a phrase: YMMV.

Your fix works upgrading kde 4.3.1 to 4.3.4 does get thunderbird to work.
