but before i do i need to kno if there is a software center as seen in ubuntu 10.10 and mint 10. one that uses ppa repositories and features user rating and reviews and such like linux mints. not like synaptic package manager but the software center
No
The software centre is specific to Ubuntu and derivatives.
But actually, openSUSE’s Software Manager is more comprehensive in many respects. PPA’s would be best described as Community Repositories in openSUSE
This is the root directory: Index of /repositories
But you’ll not understand it at this point.
Be assured, you’ll not be disappointed by the software available - But understand that we work a little differently.

run a Live CD for a while and see if you like it…or, install
openSUSE in a VM and add applications using YaST…
if you think Ubuntu or Mint’s way suits you better, stick with it! no
problem!!
