A Samsung “R700” Core 2 Duo T8600 laptop with 17in display but cant seem to find out how good it is especialy how quiet the cpu fan is, has any 1 bought/own one?

the one i choose will be dual boot windows and Linux i have read its better to have core 2 duo than a turion is that correct? as i am pulling my hair out over which 1 to buy
