Morad,
If you click on the icon in system tray for NetworkManager, can you see any options like,
Enable Wireless
Manage Connections

That can happen if your wireless switch was turned off. Check the output of dmesg.
The wireless is enable and the switch is turnon, when I choose New connection option from NetworkManager I get ( eth0 ) only, I try using different access points and get the same result.
N.B wireless is work correctely when i switch to windows
No i don’t see “Enable wireless” or “Manage connections”.
I get " switch to offline mode" and "disable wireless ".
it was work correctely yesterday, now it is not, only i shutdown the system without change any option
Which KDE you are using as a desktop.
Did you performed any updates yesterday?
I am using the default KDE from opensuse11.1 , I think it is KDE4.1 .
I set the system to automatically update at booting
As KDE4.1 is buggy, maybe you should consider to upgrade to 4.3.5 OR 4.4.1.
I had written many howtos for these all versions, but they are for openSUSE11.2, as you are on 11.1 so let me guide you how to do it for 11.1.
Open YaST and add the following repos: (This is for KDE4.3.5)
Core repo:
Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/STABLE:/Desktop/openSUSE_11.1
Community repo, if you have some community software installed.
Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Community/openSUSE_11.1_KDE4_STABLE_Desktop
Close YaST, open terminal, become root by su - and run this command:
zypper dup
For KDE4.4.1, just add these repos and run the above dup command:
Core:
Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Factory:/Desktop/openSUSE_11.1
Community:
Index of /repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/Community/openSUSE_11.1_KDE4_Factory_Desktop
Note: Don’t mix up both versions repos, just use one at a time either KDE4.3.5 OR KDE4.4.1.
Read more about repos.
Hope, this would solve the problem.
Thanks a lot,
I upgrade my KDE4.1 to KDE4.3.5, it has a nice look
Unfortunately the problem still as it is
Does it mean you are still not able to connect through wireless card?
yes, I still not able to connect through wireless card,
yes, I still not able to connect through wireless card
Try it this way:
Open YaST, select Network devices -> Network and choose ‘Traditional method with ifup’ then go to overview tab and select your wireless card and click edit button down there and follow the step by step procedure there.
It’s not the solution for NetworkManager, but you can get your wireless card work by this way, if it is properly detected.
Another is you can install and use WICD.
I already try to use “Traditional method with ifup” and not able to detect any wireless signal, also i can’t detect any wireless network using WICD which is already installed and activated.
I apologize for the inconvenience but I need to connect using the wireless. it was work correctly without any problem !!!
is there another solutions?
Try this command and check your wireless net:
ifconfig wlan0 up
If that doesn’t work, post the result of these:
iwconfig
sudo cat /proc/net/wireless
morad@linux-6xg0:~> /sbin/ifconfig wlan0 up
wlan0: unknown interface: No such device
morad@linux-6xg0:~> /usr/sbin/iwconfig
lo no wireless extensions.
eth0 no wireless extensions.
morad@linux-6xg0:~> sudo cat /proc/net/wireless
