This is a bug I am entering the same password as my login but it isn’t working. Any fix?

It might help if you explained what you are trying to do.

I am trying to change my email to the one in my suse account.

I think you have to do that at https://idp-portal.suse.com/

I did but it isn’t updating this forum software. Bug?

Hi
No, all separate logins now for the likes of Bugzilla, no SSO it’s still work in progress. They can be the same though…

Could you update my email to the one in idp-portal suse? Thanks in advance.

Hi
Done as requested, will it work, have no idea…

Sorry?!? Which separate account are you talking about? Users on this forum are authenticated via IDP. If go to Settings - Edit Email & Password I am requested to enter my current password. I do NOT have any other password than my IDP password to enter here and this password does not work. If this forum started to maintain its own user database, I missed this announcement.

If page for changing password/e-mail on this forum does not work, at least disable it and replace with large red text “contact forum administrator to change your E-Mail”.

There is no bug. You may be confused by messages meant for SUSE accounts. Ignore these. Enter valid credentials for the openSUSE account and your email address will be changed readily. Verified this by viewing my profile before and after changing the address…

a) there is no such thing as “openSUSE account”
b) as you do not even tell where you changed you email your reply is completely useless

Changing e-mail via this forum “Settings - Edit Email & Password” does not work. I am not going to change my E-Mail on IDP to check whether forum will (not) pick up these changes but I trust OP it does not.

The original poster does not tell where he tried. Why should I?

I opened https://idp-portal.suse.com and was offered Password Settings where I changed my address.

I’m pretty sure that the OP tried to change his email address in the profile settings on opensuse forums. He probably clicked “Settings” near the top of the page, and then scrolled down to where it says “Edit Email & Password”.

Hi
As in separate logins (they may be the same email/password) not integrated to a SSO solution yet, eg, I login to the forum, to login to the openSUSE Build Service I have to login etc…

We never have, email/username is just a place holder in vBulletin… What to do is covered in the FAQ’s https://forums.opensuse.org/faq.php?faq=novfor#faq_changepass

Yes, that does appear to be the case, but it would be good if it could just to refer the user to the FAQ at that place.

Folks at SUSE are busy with modifications caused by transition to Nuremberg infrastructure. Stale links are lurking. Until these are fixed users should make changes only at https://idp-portal.suse.com/univention/self-service/#page=profiledata
