Just want to clarify how to install the nvidia drivers on a new laptop.
Do I just follow:
https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:NVIDIA_drivers
or do I follow:
https://sndirsch.github.io/nvidia/2025/07/16/nvidia-drivers.html
The GFX repos?
Thanks

Stefan Dirsch is the openSUSE packager for Nvidia drivers, so his blog is a good guide, but please note that it is applicable only to recent GPUs:
This blogpost covers only installation of
G06drivers, i.e. drivers for GPUs >=Maxwell
Use the GFX repos unless you have specific needs for CUDA computing.
The SDB article covers more options (older GPUs, alternate install methods …) but should give the same results for G06 install using the openSUSE packaged drivers.
Install the system, then zypper install-new-recommends then run zypper in nvidia-open-driver-G06-signed-kmp-default should be good to go…
