What can you tell us about the VPN connection you’ve set up - which type
of VPN is it, for example - more relevant information is always better.
You might also look in /var/log/messages to see if there are any
additional error messages reported that might help diagnose what’s
happening.

Review what is logged in /var/log/NetworkManager, as that is likely to provide useful diagnostic information too. BTW, can you tell us which DE you’re using?
Hi guys, thx for answer, here is log from var/log (can’t post full log from today, bcz i have no right to put attachement hope this would help)

My connection to VPN is PPTP.
can’t open NetworkManager no program is associated… i tryed with several text editor but nothing, what do u mean with DE?
Guys one more time sorry for beeing noob, but i like this disto and ill try all to make it work.
No, that log is useless, unfortunately.
My connection to VPN is PPTP.
Then do you have “NetworkManager-pptp” and “NetworkManager-pptp-gnome” (or “NetworkManager-pptp-kde4” if you’re using KDE) installed?
Is NetworkManager even activated in YaST->Network Devices->Network Settings->Global Options?
can’t open NetworkManager no program is associated… i tryed with several text editor but nothing, what do u mean with DE?
It’s a normal text file, so you should be able to open it with ANY text editor.
But you have to be root to do that, so start your text editor with “sudo”, “kdesu”, “gnome-su”, or “xdg-su”.
F.e.:
kdesu kwrite /var/log/NetworkManager
gnomesu gedit /var/log/NetworkManager
xdg-su -c "emacs /var/log/NetworkManager"
sudo nano /var/log/NetworkManager
or run a file manager in root mode and browse to /var/log/. “Dolphin (Superuser Mode)” is available in the start menu if you’re using KDE (System->File Management), in GNOME you could run this:
gnomesu nautilus
And no, you cannot add attachments here. Upload the file/text to some sharing site such as http://susepaste.org and post a link.

en.opensuse.org is a good starting place, as well as the documentation,
which should be linked from there.

Hi Jim: As a first time user of openSUSE 13.1 and to be very honest very new in the grander use of Linux, I find this helpful also. Some of your users are newbies and need the baby steps By the way, I am loving openSUSE - it is full of needed utils and I find the configuration enjoyable. I am using it on three different laptops that I switch between, and just based on my daily mood.
In any regard, thanks for the advise and I will be using openSUSE as I am loving it thus far.
