The Move from Mint to Suse

Hey everyone,

Just moved over from Mint last night. 11.2 looked good so I thought I’d give it a go. Now I just have a few questions:

What’s the CLI equivalent of apt on here? I loved the simplicity of apt search <package>, apt install <package>, etc (I’d rather not have to bumble around in a GUI).

Second, a little more specifically, my mp3 files won’t play. I have sound (YouTube and system sounds are coming through flawlessly), but when I try to play an mp3 file through Amarok or Kaffeine, it acts like it’s going to play it, then just sits there (the progress bar doesn’t move and no sound is produced). Is this a fairly common problem or something I’m gonna have to really delve into.

Everything’s looking good for the time being. I feel like I could grow to love this OS once I get more comfortable with everything. The move from Gnome to KDE is a bit of a culture shock, but I feel like I could get to like that as well. Thanks for any help.
