the installed part of gnome-software is blank. Tumbleweed Apr 2020

Hello everyone,
I am using Tumbleweed version of openSUSE. Recently, I found my gnome software cannot show the installed Applications. All in the install tag is blank which is nothing to showed. I had tried “rm -fr .cache/gnome-software”. And I can dup the system by command line. Could someone help me? The screenshot cannot upload here, sorry about that.
Thanks

Yes, it’s also empty here. I am not sure if it is a bug. I have never installed anything using gnome-software so may be it simply has nothing to show? Do you have other system where something is shown? If yes did you use gnome-software to install anything or not?

Not yet. I think it may be a bug.

Just to compare:

Gnome software on Leap 15.1 show a whole bunch of installed applications.

Gnome software on Fedora 32 (beta) shows a whole bunch of installed applications.

Gnome software on Tumbleweed or on Leap 15.2 (beta) doesn’t seem to show anything installed. I’ve managed to get it to show “Steam” and “Opera”, but I don’t have those installed on the VM where I tested this.

I’m suspecting that Gnome software in Gnome 3.34 has not yet been integrated with zypplib.

I prefer to use Yast anyway, so I’m not troubled by this. But I assume it is a problem for people who want to use Gnome Software.

Does either of them show plain RPM packages? Because applications in the sense of GNOME have own metadata.

gnome-software works with PackageKit.

Well, if other version and distribution demonstrate different behavior this can be considered regression. If you file a bug report, post number here for reference.

In Leap 15.1, it shows all of LibreOffice, and a whole lot more. And with checkmarks that I take it to indicate that the software is already installed.

In Fedora 32 (beta), it also show a lot of already installed software. But I didn’t check carefully. I only installed Fedora to see whether it suffered from bugs 1167933 and 1168645. And the answers were “yes” and “no” respectively.

Hi
Spoke with one of the GNOME maintainers, looks like prod generation is broken there. no appstream info is registered in the vreoomd.xml, even though it is generated.

Please open a bug report… openSUSE:Submitting bug reports - openSUSE

Hi
Just been advised that this issue should be fixed now…
