The curious case of Boycott Novell

I had to laugh reading this article. This is what happens when some folks
with a pulpit get carried away with a cause. Interesting that it doesn’t
even mention Novell other than in the name of the web site.

They have talked about Novell in the past (I believe the blog was started when the Novell/Microsoft deal began). That’s one blog I can’t stand reading; the epitome of FUD. I used to read BN for kicks, but they’ve gotten so much worse over the years I can’t even glean any humor out of it anymore.

Unfortunately Mr. Schestowitz suffers from various mental disorders and tends to attract like-minded people behind him.

He’s a great example why many of us have stopped our involvement with the Linux communities as many of them are openly hostile towards their own folks. Heck, even the Mac zealots don’t burn their own at a stake.

Hey Chrysantine:

>burn their own at a stake.

 That’s a good characterization of this.

Let’s just all be glad that individuals like that don’t hold much sway over the community at large. Otherwise, computing progress and the IT industry in general would’ve come to a screeching halt years ago.
