TeXLive installation conflict

Trying to install any TeXLive related package gives me the following conflict:

Problem: 1: the to be installed texlive-scheme-medium-2024.212.svn54074-62.2.noarch requires 'texlive-collection-basic >= 2024', but this requirement cannot be provided
not installable providers: texlive-collection-basic-2024.212.svn59159-62.2.noarch[openSUSE:repo-oss]

Solution 1: Following actions will be done:
  deinstallation of libz-ng-compat1-2.1.6-1.3.x86_64
  deinstallation of zlib-ng-compat-devel-2.1.6-1.3.x86_64
Solution 2: do not install texlive-scheme-medium-2024.212.svn54074-62.2.noarch
Solution 3: break texlive-scheme-medium-2024.212.svn54074-62.2.noarch by ignoring some of its dependencies

@VNK4 Hi and welcome to the Forum
So do you need libz-ng-compat1 and zlib-ng-compat-devel installed?

I used to use TeXLive from openSUSE repos back in the past for some years.

Then, a dependency error occurred (I think it was about biber and some package) which could not be resolved for a while.

I decided to leave the openSUSE install of TeXLive and use it from project/source TeX Live - TeX Users Group. The installer is available as CLI and GUI. You are about to do a re-install once a year to update. But I do it only after two or years, each.

I am pretty happy with it.

Hello, and thank you!

The system breaks instantly when they’re uninstalled.

@VNK4 The your best to create a Bug Report to resolve the conflict openSUSE:Submitting bug reports - openSUSE Wiki

I have submitted a bug report. Thank you for your help!

It is always appreciated when you post a link to the report here.

Then people may add comments and more information more easily and that may help solving the problem sooner.

Oh, I’m sorry. Here’s the link:
