Does anyone know if we will be getting texlive 2008 in opensuse soon? There is a cool addition to it, namely the TL package manager similar to the miktex pm in windows. Thanks
I would assume it will be in 11.1 if it isn’t already in 11.
I don’t expect it for 11.1. Isn’t in Factory, Fedora or Debian… I suppose that new package manager difficults the Linux packaging.
Googling for TL brings up this link
#481606 - RFP: miktex-tools – package manager for TeX - Debian Bug report logs](http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=481606)
which suggests that at least one attempt to port this package manager has bitten the dust.
Do you have a link which suggests that there has been a change in Texlive? There is no mention of a new package manager in the release notes for the current version.
Unfortunately I dont see tlmgr and TexLive2008 in Suse, Fedora,Ubuntu.
This is very strange that developers can create package manager and cannot help other developers to package it for specific distribution.
Maybe in Gentoo there is something happening…
Hi, Texlive 2008 for openSUSE 11.0 and openSUSE factory is here: Index of /repositories/Publishing. I’m sure there will soon be a repo for 11.1, too.
