Telnet mail server port 25 problem

Hi,

I am trying to send email from my machine. It cannot connect to an external server over port 25. I tested it using this:

telnet a.mx.mail.yahoo.com 25

This times out eventually. I opened that port on the firewall and allowed postfix through the firewall too but it made not difference.

Any ideas?

Like I said, ISPs usually block home broadband accounts from using destination port 25. You’ll have to configure postfix to use your ISP’s relay.
