I had no problems connecting to my 11 Pro Max iphone hotspot. After upgrading to 13 Pro Max, it keeps asking for the password and will not connect. I have no idea what is happening. Has anyone else experienced this?
Ok. No help. Maybe I can get some responses if I give more details. I am using network-manager in KDE. With my previous iphone 11 Promax, when using the carrier’s hotspot (T-Mobile)
I would be prompted for the KDE Wallet password, and upon entering it, I would be connected immediately to the hotspot. In the wifi widget the security protocol was identified (WPA2, I think) with the connection. Upon receiving my new iphone, (13 pro Max), upon being prompted for KDE wallet password and entering it, it then asks for wifi password and attempts to connect to the hotspot. The hotspot is recognized, i.e., signal strength, and address, but the security protocol is listed as “unknown” It continues to try to connect to no avail and after asking for the wifi password again it automatically disconnects with the message “No secrets were provided.” I have opened the “configure connection” panel and tried every possible manipulation of every setting possible to no avail. I do not know where to go to get a connection. I need a KDE and network expert to help me. I have found threads with similar problems but I have never found a direct answer to what is happening. PLEASE HELP!!
Solved. Thank you Malcolm. I had no idea that my usb wifi TP-Link adapter is not compatible with the new WPA3 security standard that Apple iphones now use. Lesson learned.
If you can’t find or turn on Personal Hotspot, check that your wireless carrier enabled it and that your wireless plan supports it. On the iPhone or iPad that provides Personal Hotspot, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset, then tap Reset Network Settings.
If you will able to resolve your problem kindly hit the star for encouraging me. Thank you.
