system update, amdgpu-core package is not signed!

Howdy Folks,

I was about to update my system today (sudo zypper dup), and I get the warning:

amdgpu-core-18.50-756340.noarch.rpm:
Package is not signed!

amdgpu-core-18.50-756340.noarch (AMD): Signature verification failed [6-File is unsigned]

Abort, retry, ignore? [a/r/i] (a):

I’ve never encountered this before when using zypper dup, is this a bug? what should I do?

my specs:
HP EliteBook 8460p A0001D02,
Intel i5 2520M
GPU: AMD ATI Radeon HD 6400M/7400M
Kernel: 5.9.1-1-default

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the Forum
You will need to take that up with AMD since that’s their driver. Likely the change in the kernel (same as the nvidia one which has been fixed) with respect to licensing modules.

I see, thank you very much for the assistance!

Just wanted to give an update, as I figured out what was going on. Sometime in the past I decided it was a good idea to use the proprietary amdgpu-pro drivers and installed that package and enabled that repo. Those drivers have since gone out of date. de-installation of that package and using the open source drivers fixed the problem!

Hi
Thanks for the update, all makes sense now
