Hi everyone.
On my Opensuse 12.1 Gnome desktop, I have an intermittent problem. About 30-40% of the time, the system will not power down, or finish a reboot. It begins the shut down, but then stops and sits there and I have to either hold the power button for 5 seconds, or hit the reset button. Here is where it stops:

Doesn’t matter if I use “reboot” or “shutdown” or “/sbin/shutdown -P now” The same thing occurs, but not every time. About every 3rd time.
Any ideas?

What is the hardware version and what kernel (and version) are you using?

Hi Jim. Thank you for the reply.
Not sure what you mean by hardware version (BIOS?) but the motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 with Core i5 processor. The kernel version is:
htpc:~ # uname -r
3.1.10-1.16-default

Sorry, I meant to ask for the hardware specs.
