Hi
Anywhere in the Section before EndSection is fine. The file with the ~
is just a backup created by the program your using and can be deleted
once your done.

Got it! BUT what exactly am i looking at in the log? It appeared to be ok, but honestly that is the first time I have ever looked at one.
One other question, am I correct in thinking that any time the kernel gets changed/updated that I will have to reinstall the NVIDIA driver and do this process again?
Hi
Just any errors that may be untoward, but sounds like its all OK. Yes
every time a kernel upgrade you just need to be at runlevel 3 and then
re-run the installer, then init 5 and all should be good to go. I
normally do the following as when there is a new kernel a reboot is
required;
set /etc/inittab to runlevel 3
reboot
login as root
run the installer
init 5 && exit
restore /etc/inittab to runlevel 5
There is no need for any reconfig on the xorg.conf unless you decide to
add any new options…

There has definitely been an improvement. I don’t think it is quite back at where it initially was, also it does hang for a second or two longer when opening the icons that are in the bottom right(not sure what to refer to them as in Linux, in windows it would be the system tray) i.e. the system updater and Klipper. Anything else I should try and adjust? Thanks!!
I see all this emphasis on the nvidia driver, I’ve got the same problem with Intel GMA driver from Xorg. Xload shows 200% cpu usage (2 64-bit cores) and “top” shows a maximum of 15% usage (including X and Firefox), the CPU fan is pretty darn annoying!
Yes, Beagle and Kerry are removed.
Other problems, Yast-Network settings hangs at 55%, have to kill (-9) and jexec services can’t be started (as others have found). That wouldn’t be such a burden except that VMWare won’t run without it.
Hi
First if you have a specific issue, might I suggest you start your own
thread rather than tacking on to another users as it will have
better chance of getting a reply specific to your hardware.
I also see this is your first post… the soapbox forum is over that
way —>

Well, it’s not clear that the nvidia driver has solved the problem – also, perusing the posts, it looks like there is some issue with CPU load, I’m not the only one suffering.
I wish my load was as low as yours.
To your point, I’ll re-post elsewhere, I find most of my hardware issues have encountered, and solved, elsewhere – and that’s what I had hoped from this thread.
Thanks! By reading this, OpenOffice and Firefox are already preloaded by default. Lets say this is really the only programs I could add to the preload, would there be any reason to add anything else?
Also, what would be the best way to show you the log file so you could double check it? If of course you would not mind
