System Monitor Sensor Widget not displaying anything

Following a reboot of my Tumbleweed/KDE system after zypper dup this morning my System Monitor Sensor widget is not displaying anything, just blank. When I go to configure it all my settings are still there. Looking at the Journal I can see

 Created graphical object was not placed in the graphics scene.

Can anyone suggest what I look at next?

Stuart

Try to add a second widget and have a look if it works. No issues here after upgrade and restart of the machine.

It sounds like some incompatible configs for your widget. So trying with a fresh one would show if this is the case.

I should have said that I did try that and it shows a blank as well! I have another showing Network Speed but that works. I can change the screen title on the failing one but that is all I can do.

The dup today added/changed about 900 plus packages and I’ve looked at the history data but so far nothing jumps out at me which might have caused it.

I just deleted it and created a new one which I can configure but the apply button is not active after adding sensors!

Stuart

I just checked again and there were two updates today

libQt6Sensors6|6.10.0-1.1|x86_64||download.opensuse.org-oss
qt6-sensors|6.10.0-1.1|x86_64||download.opensuse.org-oss

They are the only obvious updates which happened.

I see the same thing. I have selected the text only style, but it comes up empty. If I change it briefly to something else and then back to text-only it does work again till next reboot/login. I haven’t had enough time to look into more closely.

Test if it works if you move the sensors to the sensor row like shown in the picture. No issues on all machines. But i use the “Sensors” row and have set the text mode on the appearance tab.

If I add a new widget and set it to graph my fan speed it works, then if I change to text only it displays OK as text. I wont know if it sticks until I reboot later.

I’m guessing one or other of those two updates are the cause?

Stuart
Edit: It seems like it will only show text items which also graph so for me fan speeds show but SYSTIN, CPUTIN and AUXTIN0 etc will not apply or display.

Tried hui’s suggestion, but the issue remains. It’s not the only widget that fails. I use Wunderground to display the data of my personal weather station. It no longer displays that data, luckily the developer of that widget is already aware of this and he usually acts very quickly.

I’m not convinced this is an issues with the widget per se but was caused by the update as I only use official plasma widgets so if an update was needed to the widget it should have been done.

Stuart

I think it comes down to the update to Qt 6.10.

I see the problem as well however I found a sort of “workaround”:

I changed the style from “Text” to “Horizontal bar”. After that it was necessary to resize the widget but it looks nice:
