System hanging

Since upgrading to 11.0 I’m having trouble with my system hanging. I was wondering if someone could lend me some ideas as how to troubleshoot this.

My System:
Dell Precision 690
16G ram
3xST3300555SS HD
Nvidia
NetXtreme BroadCom BCM5752

Thanks
-Michael

I had two problems with my system when I switched to 11.0 that caused system hangs and choppiness. One was the NVIDIA driver and the second was beagle. So what I did was uninstall Beagle as it’s posted many times here in the forums. I also upgraded my Video card driver to the latest Beta driver from NVIDIA’s web site which rectified the choppiness while running Compiz. This is also in the forums.

Cheers,
Tom;)

Disable Beagle. And, there are about a million posts here on the problem of 11.0
hanging. Try using the forum search function and look of thread titles with
words like this: hang, freeze, slow, lockup, crash. Because, there are MANY
causes other than Beagle–like, are you useing KDE4? (If so switch to KDE3,
Gnome OR KDE4.1.x).

Maybe posting your question in the correct section ? posting here for help, i.e. General Chit-Chat, won’t get much of a response, albeit a few will try to help

Yes Andy is right. See tthe top of this forum section it says:
General Chit-Chat A friendly place to converse about your adventures with openSUSE, your weekend, your boss, your new car, and generally stuff that doesn’t fit somewhere else (and we must ask: PLEASE do not post help questions here)

You might be offended if someone chime-in and jokingly answer a hanging question with an answer like, use a hanger to hang it permanently, then power down, remove the hanger and reboot.
Hey don’t take this seriously I am really just joking.lol!
