System File Editing under openSUSE 11.3 (fewrup)

For anyone that might have missed this, I wrote a script file (File Editor With Root or User Permissions - fewrup) that adds the ability to edit system files from Dolphin with root permissions. The very last post in this thread made by me is where you need to look.

File Editor With Root or User Permissions Script File (fewrup) - Page 2 - openSUSE Forums

I would request that anyone with time, create this script file and determine if there are any issues under openSUSE 11.3. Let me know about them for future modifications of this script. I have been using it without a problem so far, but all comments are welcome.

Thank You,

11.3 has been shifted to kde4.4.4
root editing works in dolphin

So, I just tried the Super User Mode of Dolphin under KDE 4.4.4 and indeed it works were before it did not.

Now do consider that using my script file fewrup does not require using Dolphin Super User Mode and it will not edit a user owned file with root permissions, both of these things are good to use. However, I would not have written it had it not been for the KDE 4 problem in the first place.

Thank You,

No worries, just adding my 2 cents for clarity…
