system doesnt shutdown, but restarts

Hi,
Im new to this forum and also to OpenSuse.

Wn i shutdown my sys, it restarts rather than shutting down. Please help me out.

You will have to help use out here, all are crystal balls are broken. Exactly what is your system? Also what version of OpenSuse can we assume 11.2 or are you trying a 11.3 beta? Also which of the many possible Desktops? KDE, Gnome, something else?

sorry you have this problem, but i’m sure it can be fixed…first, we
need more info to learn which way to go…

how do you shut it down? (the steps you go through, click/push what?)

what version of openSUSE are you running?
what desktop environment?

did this begin immediately after your first install of openSUSE? or,
did it work ok for a while and then suddenly it would not shutdown?

see, this could be as simple as you installed from a faulty disk, did you:

get your install image from http://software.opensuse.org/112/en ?
(if not, then where?)
check the md5sum of the downloaded iso?
