Frequently (not always) after I wake up my laptop from sleep, it freezes completely, not responding to any inputs. Sometimes it shows the logon screen or a black screen with my mouse cursor, and sometimes it shows a pure black screen, but in all cases trying to move the mouse does not do anything. The LED caps lock indicator also does not switch when pressing it. It seems to happen both when I wake up the laptop by opening the lid and also by pressing the power button.
Thanks! Although I have my doubts on this fix helping, as I have a problem with regular sleep wake-ups, I still applied it (added the resume dracut module, as was outlined in the linked thread there). I’ll make another post in this thread if I still encounter the wake-up freeze issue.
I’ve experienced this issue previously with Logitech wireless keyboard and mice. The apparent solution I discovered sometime back was to install the following:
Install “xorg-x11-driver-input” to prevent wake from sleep issue.
I have this in my notes for installs. I don’t know exactly why it seems it work but it seems to be related to compatibility. The problem didn’t exist on quite older builds where it was probably installed by default. At any rate, I don’t think it hurts anything to try it to see if it resolves your issue.
Nope, woke up my laptop by opening the lid after it went to sleep for a bit and it did not wake up properly - the screen lit up and the power indicator LED on the power button was lit up, but it was completely unresponsive.
