Synce problem - only partially working

I am trying to connect PDA via Synce to Linux and simply cannot get through.
I tried with odccm and now going through OpenSuse installation and installed as suggested synce packages:

 zypper install synce-hal rra-tools libopensync-plugin-legacy
 zypper install rapi2-tools
 zypper install kde4-kcemirror
 zypper install kde4-kio_rapip
 zypper install synce-kde

I have the plugins:

# msynctool --listplugins
Available plugins:
file-sync
synce-opensync-plugin

and I cannot connect. When I run synce-kmp it does not detect device at all.
It cries about odccm

~> Running dataserver
running the GUI Part
Initializing DataServer
odccm is NOT running!!

I cannot install odccm for it conflicts with synce-hal>:(

When I cradle the device and try to see log with pls

~> pls
** Message: Hal reports no devices connected
** Message: Odccm is not running, ignoring
pls: Could not find configuration at path '(Default)'

Seems nothing works… but on the other hand it does connect:

Now I am completely lost.
I mainly want to copy files across and be able to access the external network.
I saw on forums some guys had success, I still have not found the solution.

Thanks for any suggestion.
I am running KDE 4.3.0
OpenSuse 11.0 with kernel 2.6.25.20-0.1-default

I have exactly the same problem.
Did you get any further with this. I’m stuck.

Hi

had the same sort of problem.Sounds silly, but disable your firewall…

Good luck Marten

Better idea, replace it with a more controllable one.

I’m having the same problem too.

dmesg shows the device connected.
pls says HAL reports no devices connected???
Running synce-kpm in CLI gives

I notice that you installed quite a few different app than what I did. I only installed the synce-kpm (including the dependencies) from the suse/synce repo and also the rapi2-tools.

I don’t know where to go from here. Information seems spread all over the place and most is old.

I have installed synce-kpm. In “www.synce.org/moins/SynceInstallation/OpenSuse/…” I’ve read, that there is a bug in openSUSE 11.2 Opensynce python plugin. They recommended me to install Version 0.22-154.1 as of 04.01.2010, what I’ve done (but a Version of October 2010). During installation I got the message:
YaST got signal 11 at YCP file PackageInstallation.ycp:143
/sbin/yast2: Zeile 454: 23243 Speicherzugriffsfehler $ybindir/y2base $module “$@” “$SELECTED_GUI” $Y2_GEOMETRY $Y2UI_ARGS

What can I do? Can anyone help me?
