Sync user settings/files between Win7+oSuSe

Hi all!
I have the need not to waste space with redundant useless files. :wink:
On Win7 partition I have downloaded and installed lot of GBs of Steam games; Also I’d like to share bookmarks (and their tags) of FireFox, mail (I use POP) from ThunderBird and Minecraft’s worlds.
The important thing is that I want settings+files always available and synchronized between the two OSes.
I know a good starting point would be mounting at boot Win7 partition, but when? What to do? :\

Please, do not tell me things like: “Use webmail instead of POP and cloud services” because I want to work the most on local in my PC and lastly also because not every games in Steam have the cloud option.
Also, what do I think about cloud? I’ll answer with another question: would you ever give your diary to a stranger? :open_mouth:

How about using IMAP if it provided by your email provider

Also i thought Firefox had something called sync which can synchronize you bookmarks and other settings.

I use POP 'cause when I delete mails from TB, they are also removed from the server.
For FF I don’t want to use a sync service when I can have the “same” FF on both Win7 and oSUSE.

TB can delete mails in imap on client and server once you configure it

“Move it to the Trash folder” is very similar to deleting a message in a POP account. The main difference is that if you set mail.imap.expunge_after_delete to true using the Config editor Thunderbird will compact the folder after it successfully copies the message to the trash folder. [1] The same thing occurs if you move a message to another folder since moving a message deletes a message and then copies it.

Yes, you can share mail in Thunderbird between Windows and Linux. I have
done that, but almost a decade ago.

The master copy has to be in Windows. In Linux you basically symlink the
email local storage to the corresponding folder in the Windows partition.

As I have not done this in such a long time, I can not tell you exactly
what folder to symlink, nor assure you that it will work.

As to the other questions I can not answer.
