Hi to all
My context :
Open Suse 11.1 / GNOME
uname -a ==>
Linux linudess02 2.6.27.29-0.1-pae #1 SMP 2009-08-15 17:53:59 +0200 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux
no full file-system
The problem:
since yesterday, the “sync” command never ends, Ctrl-C, nor “kill -9” as root from another shell works better.
I can just break the gnome terminal window from which I called it (but the process with “sync” stays in memory). I’ve got a stack of them in memory !
“shutdown -r” stays blocked too (probably, shutdown calls “sync”).
Except for that, all seems to work “normally”.
Any risk to block the whole with a “cold boot” ? (“one-finger boot” with power-off - that’s ugly, I know!)
Any idea about a lockfile to throw away ? or any other thing to do ?
Thanks to you all in advance
Didier
