"Synaptics backend not found" - Wacom tablet

I upgraded to LEAP 42.1 from OpenSuse 13.2. The tablet works BUT I can’t control the sensitivity. When I go into Configure Desktop > Input Devices > Touchpad there’s a big red bar with the message “Synaptics backend not found” and all the options are greyed out.

Installed are:
gsynaptics 0.9.16-28.2
gsynaptics-lang 0.9.16-28.2
xf86-input-synaptics 1.8.2-5.2

The only other “synaptic” file I’ve found is synaptiks 0.8.1-15.2 and I get warnings that it needs to de-install Plasma 5 when I select it.

I also installed kcm_tablet which works, but doesn’t allow me to control sensitivity or shut off buttons.

Any suggestions on what should be installed/un-installed so I have some control of the sensitivity?

Is this what you are after?

You could try uninstalling and reinstalling from here:
https://software.opensuse.org/package/xf86-input-synaptics

thanks but it didn’t help. I still have a red bar saying synaptics isn’t found.
